Tour The Great Miyajima Torii of Japan

For centuries, the shrine of Itsukushima has became a popular attraction in Hiroshima Prefecture. Its official name is indeed Itsukushima. However, many people are calling it  "Miyajima " (Islands of the shrine), because the shape of the gate as if floating.

The Great Torii of Miyajima

To go to the shrine of Itsukushima, you can walk for 10 minutes from the ferry pier Miyajima. This temple complex consists of several buildings, such as the prayer space, the main hall and the stage of the theatre. The whole building is linked by walkways and supported by pillars above the sea.

Itsukushima Shrine can be found starting at 6.30 am to 6 pm. In certain seasons, its operational schedule may be changed. However, the temple was never close at all. Prepare cost a number of ¥500 to enjoy the temple tour packages, complete with access to the Treasure Hall.
